Roman Blasts 3 out of the Park
Friday, May 3rd , 2024
Every now and then, everything just comes together.
Octavio Roman discovered that today at Charles Hawkins Field, as he smashed three home runs during the 9-6 LSU Tigers win over the Vanderbilt Commodores.
"I got three balls to hit and nailed all three of them," the LSU catcher said in his postgame interview. "The first was a hanging curve, the second was right down the middle and the last one was a good pitch, but I guessed right and put the wood to it."
Roman, who is tied for 3rd in the SL2 with a 1.115 OPS, finished the day with 5 hits in 5 at-bats and 8 RBIs.
Octavio Roman hit a solo-shot off Angel Rubio in the 2nd, hit a GRAND SLAM off Angel Rubio in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Justin Wright in the 5th, singled in the 6th and hit an RBI double in the 8th.
Currently Roman has 20 home runs and a .284 batting average.
