Notre Dame's Rodriguez, Pitcher of the Year Award Winner Friday, June 9th , 2023 It was as good as money in the bank when Edwardo Rodriguez took the hill for Notre Dame. He paid his club back with interest this season with a superb 7-3 mark, collecting the Conference 1 Pitcher of the Year Award for 2023. The Fighting Irish star delighted the hometown fans with a fine 2.03 ERA and 71 strikeouts in 62 innings. Rodriguez surrendered 56 hits and 14 walks and limited opposing batters to a .242 batting average. He received 56 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Jim Wallace of the Nebraska Cornhuskers finished second in voting, while Joe Bernard of the Boston College Eagles finished third.
