Conference 1 Announces Best Manager Thursday, June 8th , 2023 Notre Dame Fighting Irish field manager David Rouse has brought a winning attitude to the team and the city. His no-nonsense approach, work ethic and baseball experience have paved the way for success. This season the Fighting Irish parlayed his managerial skills and some talented ballplayers into a second place spot in the Conference 1 ACC standings. Notre Dame finished the year with a 34-16 record. To everybody's delight Rouse was voted the 2023 Conference 1 Manager of the Year by the baseball writers. "Mr. Rouse doesn't take any nonsense. If you aren't doing your job, he's not afraid to call you on it," noted one of his ballplayers. "But the team wouldn't want to play for anyone else. He's tough, demanding, but he treats everyone fairly and doesn't play favorites. Nobody gets pampered on his ballclub." |
