Crimson Tide Heading to Elite 8 Saturday, May 10th , 2025 It went the distance, but the Alabama Crimson Tide finally disposed of the Iowa State Cyclones 8-1 in the series clincher at Sewell-Thomas Stadium. Winning the finale gave the Crimson Tide the series, 2-1. They will now advance to the Elite 8. The Most Valuable Player Award went to Alabama shortstop Giovanni Hearn. He batted .600 in the series, collecting 3 RBIs and scoring 3 runs. "Giovanni deserves it," said Crimson Tide manager Eddie Szekely. "He was the glue that held our club together." The Alabama Crimson Tide will play against the Arizona State Sun Devils in the next round. Arizona State won their series against the Georgia Bulldogs 2 games to 0. The Elite 8 schedule will be announced after the Sweet 16 finishes. |
