That's exactly what Giovanni Hearn did at Sewell-Thomas Stadium, going deep three times and carrying his team to victory, 8-1. "It all came together. I was seeing the ball well and I got some good pitches to hit," Hearn said. "Good things happen, when that happens." The Alabama Crimson Tide shortstop blistered the Iowa State Cyclones for 3 hits, batted in 3 runs and scored 3 times. "It ain't like we weren't trying," Iowa State manager Ryan Savage said. "He was hot and really torched my boys today." Giovanni Hearn walked in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Sid Shelton in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Chris Perez in the 5th and hit a solo-shot off Pedro Murillo in the 7th.
