Tigers Win Sweet 16 Saturday, May 10th , 2025 ABA College pundits who figured the Sweet 16 between the Auburn Tigers and LSU Tigers would go the distance were right on the mark. The two teams battled back and forth in a spirited series, with Auburn coming out on top thanks to a 5-4 win in the deciding game at Samford Stadium – Hitchcock Field at Plainsman Park, to wrap things up 2-1. "You get to the last game and anything can happen, so we're overjoyed to come out on top," said Tigers right fielder Luis Alvarez, who was named series MVP. For the series, Alvarez had 6 hits for a .500 average. He had 1 home runs, 5 RBI and scored 3 runs. The Auburn Tigers will play against the UCF Knights in the next round. UCF won their series against the Texas Longhorns 2 games to 1. The Elite 8 schedule will be announced after the Sweet 16 finishes. |
