Cornhuskers Advance to Elite 8 Saturday, May 10th , 2025 Adam Petrus said he expected the Sweet 16 to be "a battle from start to finish." In the end, it was nothing more than a minor skirmish, as the Nebraska Cornhuskers encountered little resistance in sweeping the Boston College Eagles, to advance to the Elite 8. "It may have been a sweep, but it still was a tough series," said Petrus. Nebraska won the final game by a 3-0 count and were led in the series by Petrus, who was named MVP. On the series, he hit .571 with 0 home runs. He also drove in 1 RBI and scored 0 runs. The Nebraska Cornhuskers will play against the UCLA Bruins in the next round. UCLA won their series against the Michigan Wolverines 2 games to 0. The Elite 8 schedule will be announced after the Sweet 16 finishes. |
