Arizona State Wins Sweet 16 Friday, May 9th , 2025 It's a sweet sweep for the Arizona State Sun Devils and they have won the Sweet 16. The Georgia Bulldogs were not able to keep pace with the Sun Devils and dropped the series in short order, losing, 2-0, in the deciding game. "This wasn't really the effort we hoped for," said Georgia manager Rick Rhoads. It's now on to the Elite 8 for Arizona State after their 2-0 series win. Leading the way for the winners was second baseman Nehemiah Jackson, who was named MVP. For the series, Jackson hit .455 with a .455 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 0 RBI and scored 3 runs. The Arizona State Sun Devils don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Iowa State Cyclones - Alabama Crimson Tide series. Alabama leads the series 1 game to 0. The Elite 8 schedule will be announced after the Sweet 16 finishes. |
