McMorrow Packs a Wallop -- Hits 3 HR Against Trojans Wednesday, April 30th , 2025 Whatever Rich McMorrow ate for breakfast before his game against the USC Trojans, it gave him some impressive power. The Iowa first baseman smacked three balls up and out of the park at Duane Banks Field. His home run barrage helped the Hawkeyes defeat the Trojans, 5-2. "When they throw it in your wheelhouse, you've got a shot at a homer," he told BNN reporters after the game. "I got three shots today and nailed them all." On his 3-homer day, he went 3-for-4, scored 3 times, drove in 5 and put on a display that history will remember. Rich McMorrow struck out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Josh Lambert in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Cory Brooks in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Andy Walter in the 8th. So far this season, McMorrow is hitting .314 with 17 home runs. |
