Loewenberg Sizzles -- Smokes Bruins for 5 Hits Tuesday, April 29th , 2025 It wasn't just another day at the ballpark for Chris Loewenberg. Loewenberg went on a tear and cracked hit after hit off UCLA pitchers. When the dust settled on the diamond at Rocky and Berenice Miller Park, he had a 5-for-6 line and a day he will long remember. And the Northwestern Wildcats had a win, 6-5, over the Bruins. "Yeah, it'll be something nice to tell the grandkids, but it won't get me a hit tomorrow," he joked in the postgame interview. Chris Loewenberg walked in a run in the 1st, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Paul Holly in the 6th, flied out in the 9th, singled in the 11th, singled in the 13th and singled in the 15th. This year, Loewenberg has collected a .314 batting average to date with 38 hits in 121 at-bats, 13 RBIs, 5 home runs and scored 10 times. He has played in 40 games. |
