Spartans Heading to Final 4 Friday, May 12th , 2023 The Michigan State Spartans proved to be too much to handle for the Wisconsin Badgers in the Elite 8, and a sweep was the end result. Michigan State punched its ticket to the Final 4 on the strength of a 6-1 win in the deciding game, which wrapped up the series 2-0. Michigan State shortstop John Hunt, named series MVP, was instrumental in the sweep, as he mashed Wisconsin pitching to the tune of a .444 average, with a .500 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 2 RBI and scored 1 runs. The Michigan State Spartans will play against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the next round. Notre Dame won their series against the Illinois Fighting Illini 2 games to 0. The Final 4 schedule will be announced after the Elite 8 finishes. |
