Jayhawks Move on to Elite 8 Sunday, May 7th , 2023 The Kansas Jayhawks are on to the Elite 8 after a convincing series win over the Florida Gators. Kansas wrapped up the series sweep with a 4-0 win in the last game, to take the series 2-0. "We expected to win and we executed the way we needed to," said Jake Pierce, who was named series MVP. For the series, Pierce hit .667 with a .778 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 3 runs. The Kansas Jayhawks will play against the Cincinnati Bearcats in the next round. Cincinnati won their series against the Vanderbilt Commodores 2 games to 0. The Elite 8 schedule will be announced after the Sweet 16 finishes. |
