Monday, April 21st , 2025
Adam Davis was sending souvenirs to the sun gods all game long in the 15-2 Illinois Fighting Illini triumph at English Field at Atlantic Union Bank Park.
The 21-year-old put on a show for fans, launching not one, not two, but three home runs into the stands and powering the Fighting Illini past the Virginia Tech Hokies.
"One homer's good, two's great, three's out of sight," Davis told BNN reporters after the game. "I can't wait until next game. I really feel good at the plate."
The second baseman went 5-for-6, rung up 7 RBIs and scored 3 runs on his record-setting day.
Adam Davis hit a solo-shot off Tommy Kegley in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Tommy Kegley in the 3rd, doubled in the 4th, struck out in the 6th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Jim Unknown in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
So far this year in 36 games, Davis is hitting .354 with 16 home runs, 22 RBIs and 38 runs scored.
