Cougars Hiner Smacks 5 Hits Tuesday, April 15th , 2025 Getting 5 hits in a game doesn't happen every day, so it was a special occasion for Cougars's C.J. Hiner at Schroeder Park. Hiner put up a 5-for-5 line against the Kansas Jayhawks, swinging the bat with authority all day despite his club's eventual 16-4 loss. "I'm just out there to try and help the team win," Hiner said after the game. "I had some real good at-bats. I made good, solid contact and luckily no one caught 'em. I had a great day, but it's disappointing to lose." Disappointed or not, he still gets his name in the record books. C.J. Hiner singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 6th and singled in the 8th. Thus far this year, Hiner is hitting .258 with no home runs, 12 RBIs and 12 runs scored. |
