Big Day for Rinehart: Swats 5 Hits Tuesday, April 15th , 2025 It doesn't happen very often, but it did for John Rinehart -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Schroeder Park and paced the 16-4 Jayhawks win over the Houston Cougars. After his dynamite batting performance, the Kansas right fielder told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 6 tries and put his name in the record book. John Rinehart singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, struck out in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Randy Nitchals in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and singled in the 9th. Rinehart is currently hitting .284 with 4 home runsand 14 RBIs, while scoring 11 runs. |
