Tuesday, May 18th , 2021
The Penn State Nittany Lions have swept the Michigan State Spartans and are on to the College World Series. Penn State won 9-8 today at Drayton McLane Baseball Stadium at John H. Kobs Field to clinch the Final 4.
"We're happy to have put the dagger in when we had the chance," said Penn State third baseman Danny Harden, who was named MVP for the series. "It could have been a tough series to finish if we let them start winning."
Harden won the award with a .500 batting average and a .533 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 1 RBI and scored 6 runs.
The Penn State Nittany Lions don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Alabama Crimson Tide - Oklahoma State Cowboys series. Oklahoma State leads the series 2 games to 1. The College World Series schedule will be announced after the Final 4 finishes.
