Polcyn Socks It to Gators, Cracks 5 Hits Thursday, April 20th , 2023 Getting 5 hits in a game has always been memorable feat in baseball. In the South Carolina's 5-4 win over Florida, first baseman Mike Polcyn was red-hot, scorching them for hit after hit at Founders Park. "To hit the ball consistently well, you have to relax," Polcyn said afterward. "I was relaxed for the first four hits, but I have to admit, I got a little tight when I realized I had a chance for five. On the last at-bat, I was ready to swing at anything close." Mike Polcyn singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, struck out in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th, singled in the 9th, doubled in the 11th and flied out in the 13th. For the season, Polcyn is batting .338 with 51 hits and 4 home runs. He has scored 22 times and batted in 21. |
