Great Day for Fox -- 5 Hits Thursday, April 20th , 2023 After a 5-hit effort to lead Kansas's 7-2 victory over the Arizona State Sun Devils, center fielder Bill Fox told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day." "It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the ABA College-level is really something special." The 18-year-old player earned his accolades at Hoglund Ballpark with a spectacular 5-for-5 game against the Sun Devils. "His swing is getting there," said Jayhawks skipper Steve Kirchen, who spoke glowingly of Fox after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Bill did that to perfection." Bill Fox singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and singled in the 8th. Fox currently has a .390 batting average with 64 hits, 7 homers, 25 RBIs, 29 runs scored and a .446 OBP. |
