Kansas State Takes Sweet 16 in Deciding Game Sunday, May 9th , 2021 Kansas State Wildcats won a nail-biting series against the Kansas Jayhawks 2-1, wrapping up the Sweet 16 finale 8-4 at Frank Myers Field at Tointon Family Stadium. Wildcats first baseman Eric Breene was named the series MVP. He batted .462, drove in 7 runs and scored 3 to lead Kansas State into the next round of play. "Eric was real solid for us, real solid," said Wildcats manager J.P. Lyman. "I normally say I'd like to have nine of him out there, but thankfully we got by with just one this time." The Kansas State Wildcats will play against the Alabama Crimson Tide in the next round. Alabama won their series against the Ole Miss Rebels 2 games to 0. The Elite 8 schedule will be announced after the Sweet 16 finishes.. |
