Blum 5-for-5 Against LSU Wednesday, May 1st , 2024 After a 5-hit effort to lead Kansas State's 5-0 victory over the LSU Tigers, left fielder Kyle Blum told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day." "It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the ABA College-level is really something special." The 21-year-old player earned his accolades at Alex Box Stadium, Skip Bertman Field with a spectacular 5-for-5 game against the Tigers. "His swing is getting there," said Wildcats skipper J.P. Lyman, who spoke glowingly of Blum after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Kyle did that to perfection." Kyle Blum hit a solo-shot off Scott Meredith in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Scott Meredith in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
