Shaw Selected AHS's Top Pitcher Friday, June 17th , 2022 Zachery Shaw of the Taravella High School Trojans dazzled the ABA High School in 2022, stacking up win after win, finishing the season with 3 victories and no losses -- numbers good enough to reap the ABA High School Pitcher of the Year Award. He made 9 starts, hurled 45 innings, yielded 39 hits, struck out 49 batters, walked 17 and ended up with a 1.40 ERA. Opposing teams hit .236 against him. He received 27 first place votes out of a possible 64. Drew Hanson of the Berkeley Prep High School Buccaneers finished second in voting with 14 first place votes, while Dave Gulbranson of the Woodstock High School Wolverines finished third with 15 first place votes.
