Closson Stretches Hit String to 20 Wednesday, April 17th , 2024 Grant Closson's bat has been smoking lately, and it continued today as he went 2-for-5 in his team's 7-4 triumph over the Harlem High School Bulldogs at Federals Stadium. The 15-year-old first baseman has now hit safely in 20 consecutive games for the Cowboys. Grant Closson hit a two-run home run off Marc Wilson in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, flied out in the 6th and grounded out in the 8th. Closson has a .407 average and a .457 on-base percentage for the year. He has picked up 35 hits, 11 home runs and driven in 20 runs. |
