Going, Going, Gone! Santiago Hits 3 Homers Tuesday, May 5th , 2026 Whatever Mario Santiago ate for breakfast before his game against the Palo Alto High School Vikings, it gave him some impressive power. The De La Salle High School left fielder smacked three balls up and out of the park at Koch Baseball Diamond. His home run barrage helped the Spartans defeat the Vikings, 15-14. "When they throw it in your wheelhouse, you've got a shot at a homer," he told BNN reporters after the game. "I got three shots today and nailed them all." On his 3-homer day, he went 5-for-6, scored 3 times, drove in 9 and put on a display that history will remember. Mario Santiago struck out in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, walked in a run in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 8th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Jim Unknown in the 9th and hit an RBI single in the 10th. Santiago is currently hitting at a .420 pace with 15 home runs and 43 RBIs. |
