Tuesday, May 31st , 2022
Parkview High School Panthers first baseman Brian Evans had a magnificent game against the JSerra Catholic High School Lions, rocketing three balls out of Hugh Buchanan Field to help the Panthers win, 8-4.
"I got some good pitches to hit and I creamed them," he said after the game. "The first was a big, fat fastball and the last two were hanging curves. All three were mistakes."
For the game, Evans went 4-for-5 with 3 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
"There's a fine line between hitting home runs and line drives," Parkview High School manager Wade Lucas said later. "Seems like Brian found his home run stroke today."
Brian Evans hit a solo-shot off Josh Hartsfield in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Josh Hartsfield in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Jonathan Coleman in the 5th, singled in the 7th and struck out in the 8th.
Thus far this year, Evans has hit .342 with 15 home runs and 34 RBIs.
