Franklin High School Snaps Nixon Streak at 26
Saturday, May 2nd , 2026
The Franklin High School Wildcats did something to Joe Nixon no team had done for the last 26 games -- they stopped him, ending his consecutive-game hitting streak. Unfortunately, they couldn't do the same to the Indians, who came away with the 2-1 victory at Keller High School Stadium.
"Hey, I knew it wasn't going to last forever," the 17-year-old shortstop said of the demise of his streak. "It was a good ride while it lasted."
This year, Nixon is hitting .409 with 13 home runs and 29 RBIs to his credit. He has gotten on base at a .497 clip and scored 40 runs.
