Groves Goes 5-for-5 Wednesday, May 20th , 2020 Nate Groves put on a hitting clinic today as the North Oconee High School Titans dumped the Southlake Carroll High School Dragons 19-7 at North Oconee High School Stadium. The North Oconee High School left fielder made Southlake Carroll High School defenders earn their pay, lashing Southlake Carroll High School pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats in the game. He told BNN reporters after the game that his strategy was "just hit it where they pitched it." "Too often I try too hard to pull the ball," Groves said in his postgame press conference. "Today, I just went with the pitch." Nate Groves hit an RBI double in the 1st, walked in the 4th, hit a two-run single in the 5th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Jim Unknown in the 6th, singled in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 8th. This season Groves is batting .307 with 50 hits, 19 home runs, 48 RBIs, 28 walks, .411 OBP and has scored 45 runs. He has played in 40 games. |
