Boerne High School Wins Opening Round Thursday, May 10th , 2018 John Hearne said he expected the Opening Round to be "a battle from start to finish." In the end, it was nothing more than a minor skirmish, as the Boerne High School Greyhounds encountered little resistance in sweeping the Windermere High School Wolverines, to advance to the Sweet 16. "It may have been a sweep, but it still was a tough series," said Hearne. Boerne High School won the final game by a 4-3 count and were led in the series by Hearne, who was named MVP. On the series, he hit .500 with 1 home runs. He also drove in 5 RBI and scored 2 runs. The Boerne High School Greyhounds will play against the Reagan High School Rattlers in the next round. Reagan High School won their series against the Palo Alto High School Vikings 2 games to 0. The Sweet 16 schedule will be announced after the Opening Round finishes. |
