Timberwolves Advance to Elite Eight Thursday, May 14th , 2020 In a series that had a little bit of everything, the Chiles High School Timberwolves have edged the Saint Francis High School Lancers. The two rival clubs went the distance in the tightly-contested Sweet 16, with a 4-3 win in the clincher being the difference for Chiles High School and giving them the ticket to the Elite Eight with a 2-1 series triumph. "We never stopped believing in ourselves. When push came to shove we were going to get it done," said Mike Lambert, who was named series MVP. For the series, Lambert hit .538 with a .600 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 1 RBI and scored 3 runs. The Chiles High School Timberwolves will play against the Allatoona High School Buccaneers in the next round. Allatoona High School won their series against the Tompkins High School Falcons 2 games to 1. The Elite Eight schedule will be announced after the Sweet 16 finishes. |
