Brown Smacks 5 Hits for Tigers
Thursday, April 23rd , 2026
Even as a kid, Barrett Brown said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At Paul Straub Field at Hyer Family Park, Brown showed how well he learned that lesson.
The 18-year-old shortstop had 5 hits in 6 at-bats for the Jesuit High School Tigers, helping his team knock off the Clayton Valley Charter High School Eagles by a score of 18-9.
"They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did."
Barrett Brown singled in the 1st, tripled in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Devon Perry in the 4th, singled in the 6th, doubled in the 6th and struck out in the 8th.
To date this year, Brown is batting .302 with 11 home runs.
