Rockwall-Heath High School Takes Opening Round in Deciding Game Monday, May 11th , 2020 A classic and dramatic Opening Round has wrapped up, with the Rockwall-Heath High School Hawks outlasting the Cypress High School Centurions to advance to the Sweet 16. Rockwall-Heath High School won the final game by a score of 9-4 and took the series 2-1. "We can enjoy this one tonight, but then it's back to work and thinking about the next win," said Rockwall-Heath High School second baseman Drew Riggi, whose standout performance earned him the nod as series MVP. Riggi hit .429 with a .500 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 7 RBI and scored 5 runs. The Rockwall-Heath High School Hawks will play against the North Oconee High School Titans in the next round. North Oconee High School won their series against the Lubbock Cooper High School Pirates 2 games to 0. The Sweet 16 schedule will be announced after the Opening Round finishes. |
