Huntington Beach High School Takes Round 1 in Deciding Game Monday, May 16th , 2022 ABA High School pundits who figured the Round 1 between the Huntington Beach High School Oilers and Grenada High School Matadors would go the distance were right on the mark. The two teams battled back and forth in a spirited series, with Huntington Beach High School coming out on top thanks to a 9-2 win in the deciding game at Dreamfield, to wrap things up 4-3. "You get to the last game and anything can happen, so we're overjoyed to come out on top," said Oilers first baseman Tim Wolff, who was named series MVP. For the series, Wolff had 12 hits for a .462 average. He had 3 home runs, 9 RBI and scored 7 runs. The Huntington Beach High School Oilers will play against the Parkview High School Panthers in the next round. Parkview High School won their series against the Liberty High School Patriots 4 games to 0. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes. |
