Round 1 Goes the Distance, JSerra Catholic High School Prevails

Depending on your loyalties, the Round 1 was either thrilling or heartbreaking.
The series went down to its final game, with the JSerra Catholic High School Lions and the Trinity Christian Academy Conquerors giving their fans plenty of drama. In the end, the Lions came out on top, winning 14-13 at Stampede Park today to take the series 4-3.
"We're lucky to be going into the Round 2," said JSerra Catholic High School pitcher Troy Nelson. "If all the series are like this, it'll definitely be an entertaining postseason."
Nelson earned series MVP honors, hitting for a .485 average, with 1 home runs, 4 RBI and 9 runs scored.
The JSerra Catholic High School Lions will play against the Taravella High School Trojans in the next round. Taravella High School won their series against the Southlake Carroll High School Dragons 4 games to 2. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
