Big Day with Bat: Chavez 5-for-8 Monday, May 16th , 2022 Getting 5 hits in a game has always been memorable feat in baseball. In the JSerra Catholic High School's 14-13 win over Trinity Christian Academy, shortstop Freddy Chavez was red-hot, scorching them for hit after hit at Stampede Park. "To hit the ball consistently well, you have to relax," Chavez said afterward. "I was relaxed for the first four hits, but I have to admit, I got a little tight when I realized I had a chance for five. On the last at-bat, I was ready to swing at anything close." Freddy Chavez hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, struck out in the 6th, singled in the 8th, grounded out in the 9th and singled in the 12th. So far this season, Chavez has hit .312 with 11 home runs, 37 RBIs and scored 30 times. |
