Strait Hits 3 Homers Against Rockwall-Heath High School Monday, April 1st , 2024 Lowndes High School Vikings third baseman Sean Strait put on a dazzling display of power at Lowndes High School Baseball Stadium against the Rockwall-Heath High School Hawks. In the 8-6 Vikings victory, Strait penned his name into the record books, slamming a trio of home runs in one of baseball's finest single-day efforts. "He can hit them out anywhere, right, center, left, it doesn't matter," Rockwall-Heath High School manager Walt Carrington said. "He's super strong and stays on the ball so well." Along with his three home runs, the 16-year-old had 3 hits in 4 at-bats, 3 RBIs and 3 runs scored. "Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off," Strait said after the game, when asked about his hitting philosophy. "The right pitch will come, and when it does, be prepared to run the bases. Or trot around them, like I did today." Sean Strait hit a solo-shot off Ray LeCain in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Ray LeCain in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Ray LeCain in the 6th and flied out in the 7th. This year, Strait is batting .340 with 4 home runs. |
