North Oconee High School Moves on to Sweet 16 Sunday, May 10th , 2020 Cody Fields isn't taking anything for granted, but he likes his team's chances to capture a High School World Series. "We're playing great baseball right now," said the North Oconee High School Titans hurler, who was named MVP of the Opening Round after his club swept the Lubbock Cooper High School Pirates. It's off to the Sweet 16 for North Oconee High School, after winning the clinching game by a 4-0 count and the series 2-0. It remains to be seen whether Fields's confidence is warranted, but at this point the team is looking good. The MVP had a 0.00 ERA over 6.1 innings pitched, with a 1-0 record. The North Oconee High School Titans don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Cypress High School Centurions - Rockwall-Heath High School Hawks series. That series is tied at 1 game each. The Sweet 16 schedule will be announced after the Opening Round finishes. |
