Chiles High School Sweeps into the Sweet 16 Sunday, May 10th , 2020 The Chiles High School Timberwolves have swept the Houston County High School Bears and are on to the Sweet 16. Chiles High School won 2-0 today at Chiles High School Baseball Field to clinch the Opening Round. "We're happy to have put the dagger in when we had the chance," said Chiles High School third baseman Mike Ekstedt, who was named MVP for the series. "It could have been a tough series to finish if we let them start winning." Ekstedt won the award with a .500 batting average and a .500 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 2 RBI and scored 1 runs. The Chiles High School Timberwolves don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Saint Francis High School Lancers - Sinton High School Pirates series. Saint Francis High School leads the series 1 game to 0. The Sweet 16 schedule will be announced after the Opening Round finishes. |
