Bang-up Game: Burke Slams 3 Homers Friday, May 13th , 2022 Southlake Carroll High School Dragons center fielder Colin Burke had a magnificent game against the Taravella High School Trojans, rocketing three balls out of Taravella High School Baseball Stadium to help the Dragons win, 18-1. "I got some good pitches to hit and I creamed them," he said after the game. "The first was a big, fat fastball and the last two were hanging curves. All three were mistakes." For the game, Burke went 4-for-6 with 5 RBIs and 4 runs scored. "There's a fine line between hitting home runs and line drives," Southlake Carroll High School manager Phil Pitaro said later. "Seems like Colin found his home run stroke today." Colin Burke hit a solo-shot off Ricky Moreno in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Ricky Moreno in the 2nd, flied out in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Jay Lee in the 5th, struck out in the 7th and singled in the 9th. For the year, Burke is batting .264 with 42 hits and 13 home runs. He has scored 29 times and driven in 30. |
