Greyhounds Martin Sizzles with Cycle Tuesday, May 1st , 2018 Brian Martin punished the Georgetown High School Eagles today, leading the Greyhounds to a 12-4 win. In doing so, Martin hit for the cycle, tagging the Eagles for 4 hits in 5 at-bats. A player hitting a single, a double, a triple and a home run in the same game is one of the more unusual feats in professional baseball and typically happens only a couple times per season. "Well, I didn't expect that to happen," the Pope High School first baseman said after the game. "I got some great pitches and I hit their mistakes." Martin also had 3 runs batted in and 1 run scored in the game at Eagle Field. Brian Martin hit an RBI triple in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Andrew Braden in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 7th and struck out in the 8th. This year Martin is batting .331 with 11 home runs. He has scored 22 runs and driven in 25. |
