Andrews Belts 3 HR for Patriots
Saturday, March 30th , 2024
It was a good day for the Pace High School Patriots and an exceptional one for Matt Andrews. The 16-year-old left fielder sent three bombs out of the park to help the Patriots beat the Palo Alto High School Vikings, 12-8, at Delgado Stadium.
"When you're in the zone, the game really slows down," Andrews said when asked about his performance later. "I couldn't even tell you what pitches were thrown. Today feels great, but it is a long season and tomorrow is another day."
For the day, he scored 4 times, drove in 6 runs and smacked 4 hits in 4 at-bats.
Matt Andrews hit a solo-shot off Kevin Fischer in the 2nd, hit a GRAND SLAM off Kevin Fischer in the 3rd, singled in the 5th and hit a solo-shot off Alan Terrel in the 7th.
This season, Andrews is batting .439 with 18 hits and 4 home runs. He has scored 9 times and has 10 RBI.
