Great Day for Shanley -- 5 Hits Saturday, March 30th , 2024 5 times is the charm -- at least for Bob Shanley. The Ray High School Texans left fielder tore up the Notre Dame High School Knights to the tune of 5 hits in 6 at-bats at Ray High School Stadium. The offensive onslaught from Shanley powered the 13-6 Texans win. "Shanley was a tough out," Notre Dame High School manager Jonas LeMire said to the press in the postgame interview. "He hit some very good pitches with that quick bat of his. Not an easy out, that's for sure." Bob Shanley singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit a two-run single in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Frank Orton in the 7th and singled in the 8th. So far on the season, Shanley is hitting .439 with 6 home runs, 18 RBIs and 11 runs scored. He has 18 hits and played in 10 games. |
