Big Day for Maldonado: Swats 5 Hits Monday, April 17th , 2023 It was a big day for Angel Maldonado and he brought the Allatoona High School Buccaneers along for the ride. Maldonado led his club to victory, 9-3, over the St. Johns Country Day High School Spartans at St. Johns Country Day High School Stadium, smoking St. Johns Country Day High School pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats. The 14-year-old left fielder later called the victory "sweet." Angel Maldonado hit a solo-shot off Jonathan Weaver in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Jonathan Weaver in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 7th. For the season, Maldonado has hit .427 with 8 home runs and 23 RBIs. He has played in 22 games and scored 21 times. |
