Falcons Dominate, Sweep Opening Round Friday, May 10th , 2019 Ryan Kreger said he expected the Opening Round to be "a battle from start to finish." In the end, it was nothing more than a minor skirmish, as the Tompkins High School Falcons encountered little resistance in sweeping the Buchanan High School Bears, to advance to the Sweet 16. "It may have been a sweep, but it still was a tough series," said Kreger. Tompkins High School won the final game by a 3-2 count and were led in the series by Kreger, who was named MVP. On the series, he hit .667 with 0 home runs. He also drove in 4 RBI and scored 2 runs. The Tompkins High School Falcons don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Pace High School Patriots - Villa Park High School Spartans series. Pace High School leads the series 1 game to 0. The Sweet 16 schedule will be announced after the Opening Round finishes. |
