But they didn't add up to enough to beat the Allatoona High School Buccaneers as the Chiles High School Timberwolves went down to defeat, 15-14. "It was a good game for me, not so good for our team," the Chiles High School second baseman said. "I got lucky. I made some good swings on some pitches. We just didn't put up one in the win column." On his monumental day, he had 5 hits in 6 at-bats, drove in 12 runs, and scored 3 times. "The third one was totally unexpected," Bond told reporters after his extraordinary game. "I just wanted to make good contact, never thinking I would get another home run and bang, I got number three." Luke Bond singled in the 1st, singled in the 4th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Jeremy Greer in the 5th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Chase Generoso in the 6th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Alan Barfield in the 7th and grounded out in the 9th. Posting a .323 batting average to date, Bond has 5 home runs and 17 RBIs. |
