GONE! 3 HRs for Gilbert Saturday, May 4th , 2019 Wesleyan High School Wolves catcher Chris Gilbert had a magnificent game against the North Cobb Christian High School Eagles today, rocketing three balls out of Wesleyan High School Stadium to help the Wolves take the 4-3 victory. "I got some good pitches to hit and I creamed them," he said after the game. "The first was a big, fat fastball and the last two were hanging curves. All three were mistakes." For the game, Gilbert went 4-for-5 with 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored. "There's a fine line between hitting home runs and line drives," Wesleyan High School manager Nick Lesh said later. "Seems like Chris found his home run stroke today." Chris Gilbert singled in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off John Blackman in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Richard Webb in the 9th and hit a two-run home run off Bobby Langerud in the 11th. Currently Gilbert is hitting .239 and has collected 6 home runs, 14 RBIs and scored 14 times, while playing in 36 games. |
