5-Hit Game for Lambert Sunday, April 9th , 2023 It wasn't just another day at the ballpark for Matt Lambert of the American Heritage High School Patriots. Lambert went on a tear at American Heritage Baseball Complex and cracked hit after hit off Taravella High School pitching. When the dust settled on the diamond, the 14-year-old first baseman had a career 5-for-6 day and something he will long remember. "Yeah, it'll be something nice to tell the grandkids, but I don't think I'll tell them we lost," he joked in the BNN postgame interview. Despite Lambert's personal accolades, the Taravella High School Trojans walked off the field with the 14-13 win. Matt Lambert flied out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run single in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 6th, hit a two-run single in the 7th and hit a GRAND SLAM off Bill Wade in the 8th. This year, Lambert is hitting .395 with 4 home runs and 20 RBIs in 19 games played. He also boasts an OBP of .465 with 9 walks and 17 runs scored. |
