Great Day for Lunsford -- 5 Hits Saturday, May 1st , 2021 Tim Lunsford put on a hitting clinic at Lubbock Cooper High School Stadium, spraying hits all over the ballpark and lashing Saint Francis High School pitchers for 5 hits in 5 at-bats. However, the offensive onslaught wasn't enough for the Lubbock Cooper High School Pirates, who still fell, 3-2. "Sometimes I try to pull the ball too much, so today I just went with the pitch," Lunsford told reporters after the game. "It's great to get 5 hits, but it would have been nicer to win the ballgame. too." Tim Lunsford walked in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Matt Michaux in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 7th, walked in the 9th, singled in the 11th and singled in the 14th. On the season, Lunsford is batting .349 with 7 home runs and 16 RBIs. He has played in 36 games. |
