Martin Jacks 3 into the Stands Saturday, April 8th , 2023 Chris Martin of the Pirates went on a hitting spree at Notre Dame Stadium and earned membership in the select club of hitters who have hit three home runs in a game. He blasted three into the stands in a loss, 13-12, to the Notre Dame High School Knights. "I'm not happy with the outcome of the game, but it was still a great game for me," Martin said in the clubhouse following the loss. "I have been making solid contact lately, but not getting any lift. Today I got it up in the air and out of the ballpark. I had my home run swing down pat. Got some good pitches to hit, too." The Sinton High School right fielder did indeed have quite a game, collecting 3 hits in 6 at-bats, 9 RBIs and scoring 3 runs. Chris Martin struck out in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off David Wood in the 4th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Stephen Adams in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Bobby Goss in the 7th, struck out in the 9th, walked in the 11th and struck out in the 12th. This season, Martin is batting .242 with 16 hits, 7 home runs, 18 RBIs, 9 walks, .351 OBP and has scored 13 runs. He has played in 17 games. |
