Red-Hot Cardenas Scorches Eagles Friday, April 7th , 2023 Eric Cardenas really did a number on the Clayton Valley Charter High School Eagles -- and the Eagles did one right back on Cardenas's team, the Doral Academy Firebirds, taking the Clayton Valley High School Stadium contest, 9-8. Cardenas delivered a huge 5-for-6 performance for Doral Academy, but did not deliver the victory. "I felt real good in the batter's box," the 15-year-old left fielder said after putting up a game for the ages. "I had confidence in my swing and knew that it was there and that I could get the job done." Eric Cardenas tripled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 8th and grounded out in the 10th. This year, Cardenas has socked 20 hits in 66 at-bats for a .303 average with no home runs. He is getting on base at a .387 pace and his totals also include 1 RBIs and 10 runs scored. |
