Pedro Velez Rockets 3 Home Runs Saturday, March 29th , 2025 Houston County High School center fielder Pedro Velez led the Bears to a triumph, 14-8, over the Orange Lutheran High School Lancers, crushing three home runs. "He's scary good when he's swinging the bat like that," said Houston County High School skipper Eric Wolters. Indeed, Velez put up some "scary good" numbers: three homers, 4 hits in 5 at-bats with 5 runs and 5 RBIs. "I'm just thinkin' about winning ballgames," Velez said. "When you think about home runs, you very seldom get 'em." Pedro Velez struck out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Ryan Eck in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Paul Bailey in the 6th, walked in the 8th and hit a two-run home run off Jose Martinez in the 9th. This year, Velez is hitting .333 with 7 home runs and 11 RBIs in 9 games played. He also boasts an OBP of .415 with 4 walks and 10 runs scored. |
