Hitting Streak Still Alive for Kemps

Mike Kemps's consecutive-game hitting streak has now climbed to 25 games. The North Hall High School left fielder smacked 1 hit against the Lubbock Cooper High School Pirates in today's game at Lubbock Cooper High School Stadium, but he expressed mixed emotions about the streak after watching the Trojans drop the game, 4-2.

"I feel good about the streak, but don't feel good when we lose," he told reporters. "I'd love to get a hit as well as a win next time so I can celebrate properly."
Mike Kemps struck out in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, singled in the 6th and flied out in the 9th.

This season Kemps has banged out 55 hits in 150 at-bats for a .367 average with 5 home runs. He is getting on base at a .399 pace and his totals also include 24 RBIs and 20 runs scored.
